Radius = 6 m and length of whole capsule = 40 m => Height of cylindrical part = AB = 40 - 6 - 6 = 28 m Total surface area of cylinder = Curved surface area of cylinder + 2 $$ imes$$ Curved surface area of hemisphere = $$(2pi rh)+(2 imes 2pi r^2)$$ = $$(2pi r)(h+2r)$$ = $$(2 imes frac{22}{7} imes 6)(28 + 2 imes 6)$$ = $$frac{264}{7} imes 40$$ = $$1508.57$$ $$m^2$$ => Ans - (C)
