Let marked price = Rs. 100 Scheme I : After 1st discount of 30%, effective price = $$100-(frac{30}{100} imes100)=Rs.$$ $$70$$ Similarly, after 2nd discount of 20%, effective price = $$70-(frac{20}{100} imes70)=Rs.$$ $$56$$ => Discount offered = $$frac{(100-56)}{100} imes100=44\%$$ Scheme II : Marked price of 7 = Rs. 700 and selling price of 4 = Rs. 400 => Discount % = $$frac{(700-400)}{700} imes100=42.85\%$$ Scheme III : Marked price of 7 = Rs. 700 and selling price of 4 = Rs. 400 => Discount % = $$frac{(700-400)}{700} imes100=42.85\%$$ $$ herefore$$ Scheme I has the highest discount percentage. => Ans - (A)
