Total quantity of mixture = 240 litres => Quantity of water in it = $$frac{15}{100} imes240=36$$ litres Let $$x$$ litres of water is added. According to ques, => $$36+x=frac{25}{100}(240+x)$$ => $$4(36+x)=240+x$$ => $$144+4x=240+x$$ => $$4x-x=240-144$$ => $$3x=96$$ => $$x=frac{96}{3}=32$$ $$ herefore$$ 32 litres of water should be added to this so that the strength of water will become 25% in the new mixture. => Ans - (B)
