Length of tank = 40 m breadth of tank = 30 m height of tank = 12 m volume of soil dug out = L x B x H = 40 x 30 x 12 = 14400 $$m^3$$ Area of tank = 40 x 30 = 1200 $$m^2$$ Area of field = 1000 x 30 = 30000 $$m^2$$ Reamaining area = 30000 - 1200 = 28800 $$m^2$$ Height of soil spread if dug out volume of soil is spread on the remaining area = $$frac{14400}{28800}$$ = 0.5 m
