    Let present age of husband, wife and child be $$h,w,c$$ years respectively. Average age of husband, wife and their child 3 years ago = 27 years => Total present ages of husband, wife and their child = $$(27+3) imes3$$ => $$h+w+c=90$$ ---------(i) Similarly, present age of wife and the child = $$(20+5) imes2$$ => $$w+c=50$$ Subtracting equation (ii) from (i), we get : => $$h=90-50=40$$ $$ herefore$$ The present age of the husband = 40 years => Ans - (B)
