Let side of square = 10 cm Area of square = $$(10)^2=100$$ $$cm^2$$ If side is increase by 10%, => New side = $$10 imes frac{110}{100}=11$$ cm => New area of square = $$(11)^2=121$$ $$cm^2$$ $$ herefore$$ Increase in area = $$frac{121-100}{100} imes 100$$ = $$21\%$$ => Ans - (D)
