Let the number of children be C.
So, the number of sweets that each child gets is 20% of C.
Hence, the total number of sweets there are is 20%*C*C which equals 405.
So, $$20 \%C^2 = 405$$ or $$C^2 = 2025$$ Hence, C=45 and the number of sweets each child gets is 9
