Let number of employees in the firm initially = 100 and wages per head = Rs. 100 => Total wages = $$100 imes100=Rs.$$ $$10,000$$ Number of employees after decrease of 14% = $$100-frac{14}{100} imes100=86$$ Similarly, new wages per head = $$Rs.$$ $$114$$ => New wages = $$86 imes114=Rs.$$ $$9804$$ $$ herefore$$ Decrease in total wages = $$frac{10000-9804}{10000} imes100=1.96\%$$ => Ans - (D)
