Let marked price = Rs. $$100x$$ Price after 1st discount of 20% = $$100x-(frac{20}{100} imes100x)=Rs.$$ $$80x$$ Selling Price after 2nd discount of 20% = $$80x-(frac{20}{100} imes80x)=Rs.$$ $$64x$$ According to ques, => $$64x=1280$$ => $$x=frac{1280}{64}=20$$ $$ herefore$$ Marked price = $$100 imes20=Rs.$$ $$2000$$ If it is sold only at one discount of 30%, then selling price = $$2000-(frac{30}{100} imes2000)$$ = $$2000-600=Rs.$$ $$1400$$ => Ans - (B)
