    Split the letter series into series of 5 letters each.
    Option C : aa[u]b[/u]aa bb[u]a[/u]b[u]b[/u] aa[u]b[/u]aa bb[u]a[/u]bb
    The middle letter in each series is different from the rest of the terms.
    Hence Option C is the correct answer.
