Let the total number of students in all colleges together = $$100x$$ => Number of students in A = $$frac{25}{100} imes 100x = 25x$$ Number of students in C = $$frac{60}{100} imes 25x = 15x$$ Number of students in college D = $$frac{3}{4} imes 15x = frac{45x}{4}$$ Number of students in E = $$frac{1}{2} imes 15x = 7.5x = 450$$ => $$x = frac{450}{7.5} = 60$$ Total students in colleges B & C = 2475 + 900 = 3375 Total students in colleges A & D = 1500 + 675 = 2175 => Required % = $$frac{3375 - 2175}{2175} imes 100$$ = $$55.17 approx 55 \%$$
