Let the number to replace the question mark be equal to X. So, $$17frac{2}{5} imes frac{5}{8} + X=46frac{7}{8}$$
So, $$frac{87}{5} imes frac{5}{8} + X = frac{375}{8}$$
So, $$ frac{87}{8} + X = frac{375}{8}$$ Therefore, $$X = frac{288}{8} = 36$$ So, the correct answer is option (b)
