Let the number be 100 When the student multiplied it by 4/5, => original result = $$frac{4}{5} imes 100 = 80$$ When the student multiply it by 5/4, => New result = $$frac{5}{4} imes 100 = 125$$ => Percentage error in calculation = $$frac{(125 - 80)}{125} imes 100$$ = $$frac{45}{5} imes 4 = 36\%$$ => Ans - (D)
