Using section formula, the coordinates of point that divides line joining A = $$(x_1 , y_1)$$ and B = $$(x_2 , y_2)$$ in the ratio a : b = $$(frac{a x_2 + b x_1}{a + b} , frac{a y_2 + b y_1}{a + b})$$ Now, point P (-4,1) divides (x,0) and (0,y) in ratio = 3 : 2 => $$-4 = frac{(3 imes 0) + (2 imes x)}{3 + 2}$$ => $$x = frac{-4 imes 5}{2} = -10$$ Similarly, $$1 = frac{(3 imes y) + (2 imes 0)}{3 + 2}$$ => $$3y = 5$$, => $$y = frac{5}{3}$$ => Ans - (A)
