Let cost price of the machine = Rs. $$x$$ lakhs Selling price = Rs. 52 lakhs => Loss = Rs. $$(x - 52)$$ lakhs If he sold it for Rs 62 lakh, his gain = Rs. $$(62 - x)$$ lakhs According to ques, => $$(62 - x) = 9 imes (x - 52)$$ => $$62 - x = 9x - 468$$ => $$9x + x = 62 + 468 = 530$$ => $$x = frac{530}{10}$$ = Rs. 53 lakhs
