let the term of 11y and 15y and assume that we are subtracting z from each term .So, $$frac{11y-z}{15y-z}$$ = $$frac{2}{3}$$ 33y - 3z = 30y - 2z z = 3y So we can say that the Z should be a multiple of 3 and hence the Number subtracted is "3"
