Mid-point = $$(frac{x_{1}+x_{2}}{2} , frac{y_{1}+y_{2}}{2})$$ $$Rightarrow frac{-5+x}{2}=-2 Rightarrow x = -4 + 5 = 1$$ so the answer is option A.
