    Let the marked price of item = Rs. $$100x$$ Amount after 30 % discount = $$100x - frac{30}{100} imes 100x$$ = $$100x - 30x = Rs. 70x$$ Selling price after 10 % cashback = $$70x - frac{10}{100} imes 70x$$ = $$70x - 7x = Rs. 63x$$ => Total discounted amount = $$100x - 63x = Rs. 37x$$ $$ herefore$$ Effective discount = $$frac{37 x}{100 x} imes 100 = 37 \%$$
